History of Paintball Games

Paintball began as a recreational activity but has become so popular it is now as a professional sport. It is a strategy game that mixed with nature, fun, athleticism and a strategy of the team. Paintball has many influences and evolution to get where it is today. Since 1996, extreme sports Paintball stand as the third most popular, behind inline skating and skateboarding.

War games have been around for a long time. These are used to prepare an army for battle or the beginning of a surprise attack. Since people are not able to use real guns in this game, Bob Gurnsey, Hayes Noel, Charles Gaines and nine others decided to play this game by using markers that were originally used to tag cattle and trees. This game originated in 1981.

Later on, markers were used to shoot paintballs at other players. The bullets used for each shot is a .68 caliber gelatin capsule which comes in various colors so that one team can distinguish the shots they fire from those of the opposition. Anyone that gets hit is out of the game.

Paintball has evolved and through the years and  can be played in different ways. In one version of the game teams can one flag each and the other team must capture that flag in order to win. Another game has the same objective as the first will except there is only one flag that is situated in the center of the field and each team tries to be the first to capture the flag. The other way of winning (other than capturing the flag) would be to eliminate all of the players of the opposing team with paintball hits.

The game can be played on a small scale which is called recreational paintball. This is the original way it was played in a wooded area and can be played in an area the size of a basketball court.

If there are many people who want to play and the field is a large area the game is called a scenario. The largest scenario ever was in 2005 on a 700 acre parcel of land and with 3,000 participants.

When a player who participates in a competition sanctioned by a governing body, that competition is called a tournament. Teams can be comprised of 3 to 10 players each. Rules during such events vary so people should check before entering the tournament.

For the safety of those who participate in these events, protective gear is required for each player. It consists of a helmet, chest pad, gloves, and knee and elbow pads. The guns used are only allowed to fire a maximum of 300 feet per second.

Paintball is one game that is gaining ground in the sports world. According to a study done in 2005, it is ranked as the third most popular extreme game in the world. It is considered a safe sport as long as proper equipment is used and people comply with the rules. People who are interested can sign up at the local club and join in the fun.

Samsung Takes Shot at iPad With New Galaxy Tab

SEOUL — Samsung Electronics Co launched a thinner and lighter version of its Galaxy tablet in its lucrative home market, trying to chip into blockbuster sales of Apple Inc's iPad.

business, center, and models show off the new tablet Galaxy Tab 10.1

South Korean market. Photo: REUTERS

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 inch is an upgraded version of the 7-inch introduced in October. Priced from US$500 onwards in the US market, the same as the 9.7-inch iPad, it faces tough me-too competition from more than 100 devices, mostly running Google's Android operating system.

However, so far, Apple and Samsung have the market to themselves as tablets, initially viewed as Web entertainment gadget for consumers, have caught the imagination across businesses such as luxury hotels, airlines and wedding planners.

Competing products including Research In Motion'sPlayBook and Motorola's Xoom have received lukewarm reviews, Hewlett Packard's TouchPad is a late entrant and Internet retailer Amazon.com Inc unveiled plans only last week to join the overcrowded market.
Apple's market-beating June-quarter sales for iPad reported on Tuesday underscore the challenge for the South Korean company. Shares in Samsung closed up 3.5%, boosting the market capitalisation of Asia's most valuable technology company to about US$130 billion (RM390 billion), in a strong market for technology stocks.

Apple sold 14 million iPads in the first half of this year, compared with analysts' sales estimates of about 7.5 million units for the Galaxy Tab over 2011.

"Apple's quarterly results showed again it's indeed the strongest rival to beat. Samsung will have a tough second half due to growing competition from Apple as it is set to introduce a new iPhone," said James Song, an analyst at Daewoo Securities.

Distant second

Samsung is Apple's nearest rival in the booming mobile device industry as it leverages its cost competitiveness and access to chips and core tablet components.

It has sharply narrowed the gap with Apple in the smartphone market, but remains a distant second in the tablet market, which research firm Gartner forecasts will surge to 108 million devices next year from an estimated 70 million in 2011.

"As our smartphone business grew very fast within a very short period of time, I believe it's just a matter of time for our tablet business to improve," J.K. Shin, head of Samsung's mobile division, told reporters.

Apple said on Tuesday that concern over iPad 2 supply constraints had eased and demand was still outstripping supply in some markets.

Samsung is leading the non-iPad camp challenging Apple, whose overall tablet market share is expected to shrink to below half in 2015 from an estimated 69% this year, Gartner says.

Some analysts however said Samsung faced a tough race.

"Samsung's overall software is still far behind iPad, which makes me doubt if Samsung can succeed to catch up any time soon," said Lee Min-hee, an analyst at Dongbu Securities.

"Its tablet sales were quite disappointing at around 2 million units in the first half and there's a big question mark whether Samsung can meet its target for this year."

Nomura forecast Samsung's tablet sales at 7.5 million units this year, far outpacing estimates of 2.4 million for Acer, 2 million units for Motorola and 1.4 million units for RIM.

Non-iPad tablet shipments are set to jump 134% next year, outpacing the overall market growth rate of 80%, Nomura said in a 90-page global tablets report titled Prepare for the next course.

The sale of the Tab in Korea is Samsung's fifth launch after its US debut a month ago and its sales kickoff in Indonesia, where the company says it commands a 65% market share. It has also launched the device in Italy and Sweden.

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 runs on Google's newest Android version and Nvidia's dual core processor Tegra 2.

Samsung faces the challenge of moving beyond being a hardware company, clever at copying ideas, to becoming more creative and better adept at software at a time when consumer gadgets are getting smarter.

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 has a bigger and brighter screen and weighs less than the iPad 2. However, it has access to more than 200,000 applications compared with over 425,000 applications from the Apple App store.

To cope with such shortcomings, Samsung equipped its Korean version with access to television and radio channels.

Samsung reiterated on Wednesday it aimed to boost tablet sales by more than five fold this year. It didn't provide specific numbers but analysts expect the company to have sold about 1.5 million units last year.

In South Korea, the 16-gigabyte model with Wi-Fi will be sold for 671,000 won (RM1,910), slightly more expensive than the compatible iPad, which is being sold at around 640,000 won. – Reuters

'Viral' Channel for Facebook Pages Has Launched

With towering rival Google+ received considerable attention in recent years, the juggernaut of social network Facebook has opened a "viral" to promote the growth of the channel, where the legal page may appear as a notification consumer and more likely to get positive answers.

The new feature may benefit administrators of new pages seeking to establish an initial fan base, Facebook news site "Inside Facebook" reported.

"Because these invites generate Facebook and email notifications, they are much more noticeable and could have a higher conversion rate than the Page suggestions admins could previously send that appeared in the 'Recommended Pages' sidebar module that would occasionally appear. However, accepting an invite requires users to click through to a Page," Inside Facebook said.

It said this will be useful for administrators of new Pages, who can add a large number of admins to the pages to increase the number of invites.

"Our initial test of the invite system quickly showed a high conversion rate. This is likely because users see the invites as soon as they log on, and the inclusion of the sender’s photo makes the recipient feel that they’ve received a trusted recommendation," Inside Facebook said.

The site said the feature may trace its roots to 2009, when admins and users could send Page suggestions at the Requests panel on the home page.

But in January 2011, users could no longer send Page suggestions, although admins could still do so.

Facebook removed the Requests panel completely by April.

"Now Facebook has switched back to direct delivery of Page invites. Admins now see an 'Invite Friends' link in the right-hand admin panel when viewing their own Page," Inside Facebook said.

Selected Facebook friends will see the invites as notifications that display the name and photo of the invite sender.

But instead of being presented an option to instantly like the page, recipients are made to click to the Page before they decide whether to Like it.

On the other hand, Inside Facebook said Facebook has to balance "free, viral" fan acquisition channels with its paid Page advertising services.

"Too much virality pollutes the user experience, but too little can make marketing on the site seem to expensive," it said. — GMA News

As the ball rolled into the net, the Lebanon goalkeeper could only watch and do nothing. As a result, the UAE manager didn't like the kick and immediately substituted Diab out of the match.

Top 10 Ugliest Buildings In The World

Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, but then again, so is ugliness and the members and editors of travel website VirtualTourist.com have some very strong opinions about buildings that fall into the latter category.

With this in mind the site has announced its third annual list of the world’s top 10 ugliest buildings and asked Mark Baez, A.I.A. and Principal Project Designer at Venice, California-based M Designs to comment on the final list.

Of one particularly unsightly choice Baez asked “An exercise in geometry in dire need of an exorcism?”

Reuters has not endorsed this list:

1. Sheffield Hallam University; Sheffield, UK

Resembling a mash up of a Jiffy Pop package, a salad spinner, and a food processor, this unusual complex was originally built as the National Centre for Popular Music. When it closed down after just over a year of business it was sold to Sheffield Hallam University and is now the school’s student union.

2. Grand Lisboa Hotel; Macau

With a solid resemblance to the “I Dream of Jeannie” lamp, this flashy structure can at least be admired for its campiness. As if it weren’t flashy enough as is, the exterior actually lights up with over one million colourful LED lights.

3. M2 Building; Tokyo-to, Japan

A creation of lauded Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, the M2 is disjointed, depressing and downright dirty. VirtualTourist.com member “robertbaum” said it all: “The building seems to be used by a funeral service provider.”

4. Spruce Tree Center; Saint Paul, Minnesota

Proving that it’s not easy being green, the Spruce Tree Centre is like an 80s version of the Emerald City. Occupying a significant chunk of city real estate, it almost forces residents to look at it.

5. Palace of Justice; Florence, Italy

It’s almost impossible to believe that the same city that’s home to the Uffizi, the Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore, and the Ponte Vecchio could also be home to this. While it would be a blight almost anywhere, this structure, which looks like three buildings that got into a wreck with each other, seems especially out of place here.

6. Whitney Museum of American Art; New York City, New York

While many praise this building’s simplicity, others much prefer the aesthetics on the inside. Followers of VirtualTourist’s Ugly Buildings lists may be distressed to learn that the museum’s new building was designed by Renzo Piano, architect of the Pompidou Center which appeared on the list two years ago.

7. Industriens Hus; Copenhagen, Denmark

Whether this advertising-covered box is seen in the harsh light of day or glowing in all its neon glory at night, it’s hard to know which is the best (or worst) state in which to view it. Smack dab in the middle of the city, it’s all but impossible to avoid.

8. Hong Kong Museum of Art; Kowloon, Hong Kong

It’s the non-descript factor of this building that seems to bother its critics the most. While it may be bland and featureless on the outside, inside it’s a dynamic and fascinating place with over 15,000 separate works of art.

9. Van Gogh Museum; Amsterdam, The Netherlands

The bland, almost colourless facade of this museum has little to do with the vibrant, expressive works of the artist to whom it pays tribute. Resembling half of a half-open hatbox, this building looks as if it has yet to be completed.

10. Plattenbauten; Germany

Pre-fab, a term that can set the heart of an architect aflutter, is given new meaning in parts of Germany. Glum and impersonal, these charmless apartment buildings which are remnants of the city’s communist past look more like storage units than dwellings. Mercifully, many are being either renovated or torn down. — Reuters

Fast Money Personal Loans

There are several ways to protect the personal loan will be quickly explained in detail in this article. You can borrow from friends or relatives alone. Usually, this is not a good idea, because it often creates friction between the both of you. If for any reason you cannot pay back the loan on time, you become confused and start to play "hide and seek" with your friend or family member. Your friends or relatives get angry that you are late and apparently did not have sufficient knowledge to talk about. This will eventually destroy your relationship. Especially if your friends start to ignore you.

Shop mortgage loans money mortgage personal property. Take your stereo, television, jewellery or other item of value of a pawn shop. They give him the cost of credit. Typically the cost of credit is a way below the actual value of the property. If you agree, a pawn shop keeps your property and gives you the agreed amount of the loan. This interest is usually high. If you do not repay the sum of many pawnshops offer a minimum amount of payment. This is usually the payment of interest. Then re-loan amount + interest to you and give you another 30 days to repay. It becomes very expensive. If you default on the loan, usually within the grace period where you can still buy your property if you pay for public comment.

Post-dated checks as collateral against your loan were accepted by these companies.  They charge very high interest rate, but they will give you a loan. The total loan amount, which can borrow based on how much you make. Credit is due date of your next salary. If you do not repay the loan, the company will send your postdated check to your bank to collect payments from your bank account. Not only do you pay high fees, but also the risk of additional charges of overdrawing your account. Often, these types of loans extended to 6 times in a row. You just pay and re-borrow when the time comes to pay. They are really desperate loans. It is violent and should be avoided.

There are other types of loans such as payday loans, only it is attached to the title of your vehicle. If you have a clear title can be borrowed against the value of it. Of course, if you do not pay, you lose your vehicle.

You can also request for an advance against your wages. For personal emergencies, some companies offer this to their employees. Or you can check with your financial institution will be offering small personal loans. If you do not have a real emergency, and must receive cash immediately, it makes sense not to borrow money through any of these funds. They all carry some risk and very expensive. It is better to postpone the purchase, you can afford.

Why PageRank is Not Important?

A detailed video explanation about some of the misunderstandins related to Google PageRank has been discussed by Matt Cutts from Google Webmaster Help. As more and more consumers  turns into the content, quality of content is dropping down at large scale because most people today discuss SEO tips without any authority. It is very important to practice SEO tips from the web site that provides resources available to claim. Over the past few years, Google censor websites are trusted by the PageRank algorithm and give more importance to them and thus sending them more traffic. The PageRank has opened up a large network of Link building SEO companies and services. Almost everywhere a new bloggers today are giving more importance to PageRank and fresh quality the content.

Is PageRank important?

Yes it is important but not more than your content. You can receive thousands of visitors per day with PR0. I have friends in my networks who are full-time bloggers and earning hell lots of money without having to worry about rankings such as PR and Alexa at all. Because their power tool is to post frequently. The more you post the content, the more you receive a good traffic. If you are destroying your precious hours in looking for backlinks or exchange links and not posting consistently then you are close to nothing.

PageRank and Alexa are important only when you have quality content and Traffic. Amazingly both your traffic and Content are independent of solely Rankings but depend a lot on what you write and publish. Advertisers look for three things when they buy an ad spot:
1. Traffic
2. Alexa
3. PageRank
But Google AdSense looks for just one thing and that is Traffic.

Unless you have quality content both your PR and Alexa are useless. Because only with quality content you get lifetime quality organic Traffic. There are many blogs and websites with PageRank 6.0 in Buysellads directory yet they are not even earning a penny because they spent there great skills on ranking alone and under-estimated the value of good posts, content and shares and as a result ended their careers with hopelessness. My short personal experience says that if there anything that matters more is Traffic. Writing on things that attract people is what I call Blogging.

Here is a video by the Google software engineer Matt Cutts, where he answered questions about why Google Toolbar PageRank values are not updated more frequently? In the same video, you will find the answer in which he confirmed that the content is more important than PageRank.

Insanely Fast RC Tubine Jet...

Hello guys, do you know what the most expensive hobbies for RC lovers? If someone would ask me a questions like that, I will certainly give a simple answer - RC Turbine Engine. Do you know why? Let's check it out!!

The principle of how model turbine engines work or any turbine engine is very simple. They suck in a lots of air then compress it with high pressure. After that, add fuel to the compressed air, and then ignite the compressed air/fuel mixture. Seeing that the air is so highly compressed, more fuel per volume of air ratios are possible.

When more fuel is added, the more heat and gas expansion generated causing the turbines spin quicker, then vacuum and compressing air even more. The final result is lots of hot compressed expanding air to extend at the back of the engine – THRUST! (This is why turbine engines are so powerful).

Turbine powered RC jets are not for the newcomer. They are only for pilots who have accumulated a lot of flying experience with ducted fan jets.

Although it is a very expensive segment of the RC hobby, turbine RC jets increasingly popular due to their sounds and smells so much like the real thing.

FYI, turbine RC jets can approach speeds of 300+ miles/h @ 483+ km/h (more quicker than Bugatti Veyron) and they can get up to altitude very quickly - nearly half speed of sound!!
Let's see what I mean for:
Radio controlled jet powered by a Jetcat P160 SE. On the 23rd of May, this Jet has been lasered @ 586 KpH Which makes it a 366 MpH plane...

*The jet itself is being powered by a Jetcat P160 SE turbine engine, and this thing really moves. Its crazy to see how fast it takes off on the rail once the guy releases it, and then its gone from sight. Its hard to tell how fast it is traveling, but I would estimate a couple hundred miles per hour.

Turbine RC jets also require precautions that are not normally associated with ducted fan RC jets. They use the real jet fuel and the engine can get very hot like the actual jet engine. It has been a major touch of realism to the RC jet, and the units produced commercially for use in radio control are now widely available and becoming more common.

How Does A Model Jet Turbine Works?

Model jet engine design may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, but they all operate on the same principle. Today the most common type is a centrifugal turbine, compared to the long axial flow turbine.

A centrifugal turbine differs mainly in the compression - the air enters the turbine is thrown outwards as it passes over the spinning impeller. The air hits against the inside of the can and thus was very compressed, before passes over the combustion chamber. This increases the compression of air temperature, as well as the pressure.

The fuel, which is nearly always kerosene ("Jet A1"), entered into the combustion chamber as a fine spray, and mix with the air until now very easily compressed. This mixture of air / fuel, then ignited by a small spark glow plug, similar to those found in the engine 2 or 4 stroke model airplane.

As a mixture of air / fuel ignites and exploded in the chambers, it is forced rearwards towards the turbines. The turbines accelerate the velocity of the passing gases, and increase the pressure of it. Gas (exhaust) finally squeezed through the constriction at the back of the jet pipe of the same engine, leaving at high speed and pressure, thereby generating the high levels of thrust.

The turbines is connected to the front impeller through the main shaft, so that they power the impeller as they spin.

Drawing below shows the basic principle of centrifugal flow model jet engine:

Most of the model jet engine that use an electric motor to initially power-up the turbine. Only when the compressor has reached its required revolution per minute (RPM), fuel can be introduced into the chamber and the engine can operate normally.

More applications of model jet engine will coming up soon!

'Transformers: Dark of the Moon' Shape Up With Year's Best Weekend

"Transformers" robots have lost some of their money-making power but delivered the biggest opening weekend domestically so far this year.

Distributor Paramount Pictures said Sunday that "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" took in $97.4 million domestically in its first weekend. That beat the $90.2 million debut of Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides."

But the domestic haul for the sci-fi sequel was down from the $109 million first weekend for 2009's "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen."

Since opening Tuesday night, the new "Transformers" pulled in $162 million domestically through Sunday, a drop from $200.1 million for "Revenge of the Fallen" in its first five days.

Paramount estimates "Dark of the Moon" will hit $180.9 million domestically by the end of the long Fourth of July weekend Monday.

"Dark of the Moon" added $210 million overseas, giving the movie a worldwide total of $372 million through Sunday.

The movie broke the three-day Fourth of July weekend record for domestic revenue previously held by 2004's "Spider-Man 2" at $88.2 million. But factoring in today's higher admission prices, "Spider-Man 2" sold more tickets than "Dark of the Moon."

PayPal: No Longer Need to Carry a Wallet by 2015

Internet money transfer company PayPal has just hit its 100 million active accounts milestone, and with it, the company is predicting that mobile payments will supersede physical wallets in the not too distant future.

"Consumers are increasingly giving up traditional payment methods such as cash and cheques and turning to a more modern - and anytime, anywhere - form of payment," said PayPal president Scott Thompson on the company's blog.

"We believe that by 2015 digital currency will be accepted everywhere in the United States - from your local corner store to Walmart. We will no longer need to carry a wallet," he added.
The company is so sure about its no-cash prediction, it is asking five of its San Francisco Bay area employees to "use only digital currencies to pay for all their purchases" in a pseudo-competition (read viral marketing stunt) that will be announced on July 11.

A Canadian study conducted by Leger Marketing on behalf of PayPal and released on June 28 found that more than half of Canadians are comfortable with a cashless society.

During an opening keynote at the GSMA Mobile Money Summit in Singapore, Visa's head of mobile innovation, Bill Gajda, announced Visa's vision to convert mobile devices into "true digital wallets" adding that "we're at the dawn of the next generation of mobile money - maybe 'mobile money 2.0.' As an industry we've moved past what software we're going to buy and can now talk about what we're going to do."
